A timeless question, what am I called to do, what is my purpose? Praise the Lord Jesus, for He prayed for you and your purpose before your existence. Our Savior desires you to be in the word of God, connected to the Father and in fellowship with brothers and sisters in Christ, outpouring with so much love from God that it is noticed by the world, bringing glory to Jesus (John 17:20-26). Something He practiced Himself to glorify the Father.
What a shame to know the Living King took time before His death to lift His eyes to heaven for you and me, but so easily we can ignore it. The Lord desires our attention, our devotion, our union, and service. Let us first answer the petition of Christ over our lives; which may just be showing up to clean a table, or check on the neighbor. Then in that obedience trust the Holy Spirit to reveal to you specific things He wants you to do and be a part of. Set your mind on things above and draw comfort from His love; giving thanks God has qualified His children to be partakers of light, “filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding,” (Colossians 1:9b; 12).
God’s will be in you. Ask God to prepare you in whatever way He feels necessary so when He allows the knowledge and understanding of it to surface you are ready to deny your flesh and allow your spirit to say “yes Lord, use me.” For God so loved the world that He gave His only son (John 3:16), but the Son had to willingly lay His life down and say yes Father with His Spirit. Know that you have already been qualified to complete the work of God, so trust He will equip you to complete it once your yes is put into action; whether in your backyard or to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8).
“For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us” (2 Corinthians 1:20 NKJ).
